- Provide holistic, purpose-driven financial planning solutions to individuals and institutions.
- Start with a solid foundation: Step into an existing book of clients from a network of retirement communities and affinity networks who trust Covenant Trust’s mission and services. This strong client base affords opportunities to focus on deepening relationships and expanding your practice rather than starting anew.
- Strengthen your competitive advantage within your personal developing networks and community by leveraging Covenant Trust’s investment management services, trust administration services, and gift planning products and services.
- Enhance client retention by building trust, establishing strong relationships, and communicating effectively with clients. Empower and embolden clients by providing ongoing education regarding their financial decisions.
- Work collaboratively with team members, Trust Officers, and Trust Administrators to provide a fiduciary level of client care that matches client needs to our wide array of financial solutions: Investment Management, Retirement Planning, Income Planning, Trust Administration, Estate Planning, and Gift Planning.
What we look for:
- Five (5) years of experience in the financial services or related industry.
- CFP® designation preferred, or other demonstrated financial expertise or competencies.
- Previous experience using a CRM.
- Previous success in managing a book of clients is a plus.
- Prior experience with Right Capital, Salesforce, and MS platforms is a plus.
- A heart for serving others and a passion for helping individuals and mission-centered institutions achieve their financial and charitable planning goals.
- Periodic travel throughout assigned territory to meet with prospects/clients.
- This role is based in Santa Barbara, but many of our advisors commute from nearby communities (e.g., Goleta, Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks) and we offer scheduling flexibility to support a reasonable commute.
Salary and Benefits:
- Competitive base salary: $90,000-$110,000 plus a goal-driven bonus opportunity & structured bonus opportunity.

Position Summary
The Summer Internship Program at the Covenant Trust Company (CTC) is designed to provide students with an immersive introduction to the world of trust and financial services. Through meaningful and hands-on experience, interns will gain a deep understanding of how a trust company operates and the role it plays in serving clients and communities. Interns will rotate through our core teams — Operations, Administration, and Investments — gaining broad exposure to the full business lifecycle, while also experiencing the client-facing side of our work through a dedicated field day with a Financial Advisor.
Key Qualifications
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree during the length of the internship
- Current class standing of sophomore (second-year college student) or above
- Preferred majors include Finance; Accounting; Business Administration; Economics; or related fields
- Must provide a copy of an unofficial transcript or letter showing proof of enrollment
- Committed and available to work for the entire length of the program
- Access to own housing and transportation to/from CTC headquarters
- Must be able to work on-site in Chicago, IL
- Interested in financial services, trust, or wealth management
- Self-starter attitude and team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship or future sponsorship
Internship Goals
- Provide real exposure to trust company operations
- Help students understand different career paths within financial services
- Build professional skills in communication, organization, and teamwork
- Create a positive early-career experience in a small-company environment
Program Details
- Duration: Monday, June 1, 2026 – Friday, August 14, 2026 (10 weeks)

- Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (full-time); 5 days in office
- Compensation: $17/hour
